All products of the brand Duroc d'Olives
Duroc pig is best known for its iconic red coat and drooping ears. Durocs however have considerable variation in colors. The color can vary from a very light golden yellow to an almost very dark mahogany.
However, the effective origin of the Duroc pig is unclear. According to some sources, the red race was originally transported by the slave trade from Africa to the Americas. Other sources report to the import from Europe via the 2nd America of Columbus' voyages to Nova Scotia.
In 1812 the so-called "Red Hogs" were bred in New York and New Jersey in the US. These pigs had specific characteristics, they were not only large in size but also had large litters and high fertility. Our current Duroc pigs are descended from the Red Duroc from New York and Jersey Reds from New Jersey.
